FRAGFX SHARK FAQ

Dual SFX FRAG PRO / Dual SFX EVOLUTION / FragFXv2SE FAQ

FragFX Shark360 FAQ

Can I use my wireless Xbox360 controller and connect it by cable to the dongle

No, you need a wired official Xbox360 or a licensed 3rd party Xbox360controller

The dongle is plugged in the Xbox360 and lights up (with the wired controller connected), but does not connect to FragChuck/Mouse

Check if the switch on the dongle is set to ‘Xbox’, if not, unplug, switch to Xbox and plug again

My dongle is set correctly (wired controller plugged), I cannot connect to either FragChuck or Mouse (or both).

You will need to unpair and pair your device. Please click here for the instruction

My mouse movement is slow; I need to lift the mouse to get a 180/360.

Please check out our recommended game settings. Usually, in-game your sensitivity needs to be close to or at maximum. Then use the dial on the FragChuck to find your best setting.

Audio: My friends hear me, but I cannot hear them

Headsets work in multiplayer mode only. Headsets don't work in xbox live party chat etc.
Plug in the dongle, then the wired Xbox360 controller into the dongle, switch on FragChuck and Mouse. Then plug in your headset into the wired controller.
Using for instance the Xbox headset, you will hear audio from your TV, and other players through the headset. They will also hear you.

Should you experience issues, you can try the following:
  1. Connect Dongle, Controller and Headset with the xbox360. Only then switch on your Xbox360
  2. While you are in the Xbox Menu, unplug the Dongle (including everything else that is plugged), then plug it again.
Should you experience other issues or have further questions: please open a ticket with support: support.splitfish.com

FragFX Shark360 Unpairing/Pairing

This process should only have to be done once.

Its advisable to perform this on a PC (switch on dongle to PC then; before using it on the XBOX switching back to XBOX)
If performing this on the XBOX, unplug the wired controller.

3) pair the mouse
- Switch off the chuck, and switch on the mouse
- Insert the dongle into the PC (preferable) or Xbox360 (do not connect the wired controller)
- Hold the mouse close (~10cm) to the dongle, and press either A, B, X or Y button
- The LED on the mouse should dim out and the green LED on the dongle should light
- If not, repeat the procedure

4) pair the chuck
 - Switch off the mouse, and switch on the chuck
- Insert the dongle into PC (preferable) or Xbox (do not connect the wired controller)
- Hold the chuck close (~10cm) to the dongle, and press the 1 button

We recommend you set the In-Game sensitivity to maximum (or close to max.) .
The adjustment wheel (controller dial) function is used to tune the ‘dead zone’.
The ’dead zone’ is an area around the center of the analog stick (in the Shark’s case the mouse movement)
which allows for the aim to rest without the on screen reticule moving all over the place.
You can adjust this in a way to get pixel point accuracy.

If there is no (or barely any) movement on the screen when you move the mouse, the setting is too high (ex:  9).
If movement is direct but the crosshair jumps, the sensitivity is set too low (ex: 1) .
The best setting will vary from gamer to gamer, but we found the best setting is between 2 and 5.

Dual SFX FRAG PRO / Dual SFX EVOLUTION / FragFXv2SE

How to set Rapid Fire
Activate Rapid Fire by pressing and holding at the same time: Frag button & L3 & R3.
You start to hear beeping and the PS button light is flashing.  At this point, you can adjust the speed of the Rapid Fire by pressing/tapping the D-pad up (faster) or the D-pad down (slower).  Each press/tap on the D-pad increases the speed of the Rapid Fire.  Once you find the desired speed, press R1 to sync the Rapid Fire to the fire/shoot button in the game.  Once you pressed the R1 button, the beeping stops and the light continues to flash at the speed of the Rapid Fire you selected (R1 is used as an example for the fire/shoot button here)

Does the Dual SFX Frag Pro / Dual SFX Evolution ship with batteries?
No. Due to import rules and regulations in various countries, the controllers ship without batteries. We recommend to use rechargeable or regular AAA batteries.

What is the supplied short USB (extension) cable for?
When you use more than one wireless Controller (Dual SFX Frag Pro or the Dual SFX Evolution) at the same time, you can plug each wireless dongle into its own short USB extension cable to move them physically apart, limiting the chance of interference between the two controllers.

Does the Dual SFX Frag Pro / Dual SFX Evolution ship with a cable to recharge batteries?
No. The controllers are designed to use the original PS3 Controllers cable.

Are there any recommended sensitivity settings?
Yes. Games have internal sensitivity controls that, when set at a high level and combined with maximum sensitivity wheel settings on the FragChuck (Lefthand Controller), will make movements too fast. If things seem choppy – simply turn down the FragChuck sensitivity to 1 or 0. In order to get the smoothest mouse movements during game play, here are some suggested settings.

Recommended Game Settings for the Dual SFX Frag Pro:

COD MW2: Game Sensitivity set to 8-10
(FragFx Dial setting : 1-2)
Battlefield BC2: Game Sensitivity set to Max
(FragFx Dial setting : 1-2)
Borderlands: Game Sensitivity set to Max
(FragFx Dial setting : 0-1)
COD 3: Game Sensitivity set to Max
(FragFx Dial setting : 2-3)
RFOM : Game Sensitivity set to 8
(FragFx Dial setting : 1)
Fear: Game Sensitivity set to 8-10
(FragFx Dial setting : 2-3)

Recommended Game Settings FragFXv2 and SE :

COD MW2: Game Sensitivity set to 8-10
(FragFx Dial setting : 1-2)
Battlefield BC2: Game Sensitivity set to Max
(FragFx Dial setting : 1-2)
Borderlands: Game Sensitivity set to Max
(FragFx Dial setting : 0-1)
COD 3: Game Sensitivity set to Max
(FragFx Dial setting : 2-3)
RFOM : Game Sensitivity set to 8
(FragFx Dial setting : 1)
Fear: Game Sensitivity set to 8-10
(FragFx Dial setting : 2-3)

How can I preserve batteries and what does the on/off switch do?
The Dual SFX Frag Pro and the Dual SFX Evolution has an AUTOMATIC SLEEP MODE that it engages after 5 minutes of no play – in fact it is better NOT to switch off the units. If you are not going to use the Controller for a day or two - it is recommended to remove the batteries.

NEW: For people experiencing battery drain: we recommend not switching the FragChuck OFF. Simply leave it ON – press „Select“ to continue game play.

Are there any Firmware upgrades ? And what operating system do they work with?
Yes. There will be firmware upgrades posted from time to time on the Splitfish website. There is also a downloadable tweak utility. These can be used on a Windows XP (32bit), Vista or Windows 7 (32bit).

New: 64bit are available now.

Reset & Firmware upgrade
Mouse: Switch off the mouse. Then push R3 and start AND switch on your mouse - at the same time. After that, run the firm.
FragChuck: FragChuck: Switch off the FragChuck. Then push Select and L3 AND switch on your FragChuck - at the same time. After that, run the firm.

Is the firmware upgradeable if there are firmware changes by Sony to the PS3, or to accommodate extra functions in new game releases?
Absolutely! This is truly unique to the Dual SFX Frag Pro, Dual SFX Evolution and the FragFXv.2 / SE – it is fully firmware upgradeable!
(NOTE: THERE IS SEPERATE FIRMWARE FOR EACH OF THE CONTROLLERS)

Early shipped versions of the Dual SFX Frag Pro (known issue)
Versions of the Dual SFX Frag Pro shipped in the end of October 2009, may require a firmware upgrade.

My Controller still stops at times (Wireless Dual SFX Frag Pro and Dual SFX Evolution)
If you have the most current firmware installed and your controller stops frequently on the PS3 and then starts up again after a few seconds delay, (and a hardware problem is ruled out by support) then you are likely in a high radio frequency area. This can sometimes be helped by using the (supplied) USB extension cable to reposition the receiver dongle – however it may be necessary to locate the source of the interference in order to ensure stable operation. The source can be surround sound systems, cordless phones, microwave ovens, cell phones, wireless network, headphones, or other game devices that may occupy a large bandwidth.

NEW : People with disconnecting issues : turn down in-game sensitivity to 8 and increase sensitivity on the FragChuck (dial)

Macro set up steps
1) Press the MACRO key button plus the Frag button then release. The red light flashes to indicate that your controller is ready for recording the MACRO.
2) Press L1 or L2 key and release, now it is ready to set MACRO combination.
3) Key in the function that you want to set to MACRO (the red light is off now). Then press the MACRO key button and the red light should be on again. Now you have completed step 1
4) To conclude: You can set up maximum 12 steps, when all the steps are set, the red light is gone and the blue light is on. You can press the MACRO key when the set up is completed
5) MACRO set up is completed now, when you press L1 or L2 key, you can use your programmed MACRO function.

Remarks :
a) D-PAD, L1,L2,R1,R2, LX,LY, “△”,“□”,“○”,“※” are all the keys that can be set for MACRO
b) To disable the settled MACRO function, repeat steps 1 and 2, then press MACRO key to exit.

Are the Frevolution Series unfair to use in online play?
Not really; can you move a mouse faster than an analogue stick? Our patent design replaces the right stick with a mouse for aiming. For a PC gamer used to a mouse, it will be rather more comfortable than an advantage. Like a driving a car, some prefer automatic others standard transmission. It’s all about personal preference. The Frevolution Series offers an optional control method with a few extra bells and whistles for added gaming fun.

Apart from the PS3, do the Frevolution Series work with PC games too?
Both the Dual SFX Frag Pro and the Dual SFX Evolution work on PC games that recognise gamepads.
FragFXv.2 / SE do not have this function, they work

Can you use the Frevolution Controller Series to surf the web?
Sure. You can surf the web and the Webstore with ease. You will have to change to „mouse mode“ to do so. Please read the manual for detailed instructions.

Which game does it work the best for?
The Frevolution Series works with most games.
The Dual SFX Pro and the FragFXv.2 / SE were designed for FPS (first person shooter) games and do also work for 3rd person shoothers.
The Dual SFX Evolution was designed for Sport, action and fighting games, or simply for anybody enjoying to hold a controller freely in each hand.

For some games the sensitivity seems „choppy“ or uncontrollable? How do I change this?
There are a few things you can do. First set the Dial to zero (0) and more move up level at a time until you find the best range. Also make sure you adjust the 'in-game' look or aim speed in conjunction with the sensitivity dial on the FragChuck (Lefthand Controller) for each game. With some tweaking you will find the best setting that works for you.

Is it true you can flick your wrist to throw a grenade?
Yes. In fact the Frevolution Series Controllers is fully customizable. Not only can you throw grenades if that’s your thing, you can map any action button (grenades toss, rifle butt, weapon reload, punch etc.) to activate with a flick, toss, or snap motion of your FragChuck (Lefthand Controller). For example you map the square button which is usually a weapon reload to the FragChuck. Now instead of pressing the square, you flick your wrist and you reloaded on the fly!

Will the mouse work on any mouse pad?
Good question – although the Dual SFX Frag Pro and the FragFXv.2 (Not by the SE Series) ship with a mousepad it works on virtually any surface.
What is the difference between FragFx V2 and the SE?
They are the same except the SE does not ship with the SplitFish gaming mousepad.

2) Press L1 or L2 key and release, now it is ready to set MACRO combination.

4) To conclude: You can set up maximum 12 steps, when all the steps are set, the red light is gone and the blue light is on. You can press the MACRO key when the set up is completed
5) MACRO set up is completed now, when you press L1 or L2 key, you can use your programmed MACRO function.

Remarks :

b) To disable the settled MACRO function, repeat steps 1 and 2, then press MACRO key to exit.
